I was watching Noggin with my son at around 11:15 PM when I heard some sirens going off. I thought it was just some random fire trucks or police cars that are not that serious. Two minutes later, they were in front of my house! I was still half asleep and immediately thought that my house is on fire.
Before I could even investigate on what is going on, I already had a bit of adrenalin rush. I started shaking and ran towards the playroom and took a peek through the glass window. As soon as I stuck my head out there, I saw this bursting flames about 400 feet away from me coming from the third house across my street. It was ridiculous and scary to see things you have never seen before except on TV!
I immediately, went back towards the stairs and yelled at my husband downstairs. The first time I called him, he was just like “Huhhhhhhhh”? The kind of a huh you would get from someone that just woke up. I got even scared when I went back to the room and saw embers, dark smoke and things popping from that fire. I screamed as loud as I could to my husband and that got him up. My throat actually hurts so badly right now.
My son just fell asleep so I grabbed him and my passports then stuck it in my purse and ran downstairs holding my son. I thought of the worst at that moment. I don’t have very much knowledge of how fires drift from one place to another but I know that those embers flying all over the place can cause them. My husband calmed me down for about a second after he came back from outside to check and see what was going on. We had a bit of drizzling all day and the wind were actually in our favor.
After about ten minutes of panic, I realize my house is not going to be on fire and we are going to be okay, so I laid my son down in the couch downstairs and followed my husband outside so I could find out more about the accident. I stood on the sidewalk for about ten minutes and finally heard that everyone was safe except for two dogs that were missing. I hope the dogs are okay too. It is too chaotic right now outside and I actually feel okay now. As I type this, firefighters are still out in front of my house trying to contain the fire. Almost everyone that I know in my neighborhood is standing at the sidewalk looking at the fire right now. There are still flames that I could see from the top of the roof and the firefighters are working very hard.
I have met the owner of that house a few times when he comes around when we have party here. I heard he is a lead singer for a band that is on the rise. I am not sure what is his name or the band’s name. I find out tomorrow☺ I think I can go back lying down in bed assured that I won’t get burnt tonight! Otherwise, I'll stay up working on my websites and peek through the window every 5 minutes to check of the firemen. Here a quick video I took from the playroom where I first saw the bursting flames.
